Tim Zimmermann

Tim is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Atmospheric and Climate Sciences. The focus of his thesis is to develop a new approach to natural hazard risk modelling using machine learning on a large dataset of hail events and building damage reports in the Canton of Zurich. The data he is working with includes hail-related radar products from MeteoSwiss, crowdsourced hail reports, building characteristics and damage reports from the Canton of Zurich building insurance company.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys being outdoors and trying a variety of sports. Recently he has been spending a lot of time on his bike, but he can also be found hiking, skiing or paragliding.
