Lisa joined the Department for Environmental Systems Science in October 2020 as an external PhD student from Eawag (Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology). She is supervised by Prof. David N. Bresch (ETHZ), Dr. Sabine Hoffmann (Eawag) and Dr. Christian Pohl (D-USYS TdLab). In her PhD, she investigates the topic of ‘Integrative Leadership in Inter- and Transdisciplinary Research (ITDR) Programmes’. The integration of knowledge from different disciplines, and from diverse actors from policy and practice, is widely regarded as both the key feature and the core challenge of inter- and transdisciplinary research. Lisa examines how these integration processes can be effectively led by studying different ITDR programmes dealing with environmental issues in-depth.

Lisa holds an MSc in Socio-Ecological Economics and Policy from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, which she finished with an interdisciplinary thesis on the gender-environment interface from a critical realist perspective. Prior to her Master’s she completed BA’s in Sociology and Political Science at the University of Vienna and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She enjoys going to the theatre, being in nature, and is passionate about Latin American music.
