Jonathan Dechert

Jonathan is pursuing a Master’s in Physics with a focus on climate science. With a BSc in Physics and BA in Didactics from the University of Münster, he is particularly interested in the intersection of climate science, economics, and policy. His practical experience includes research on battery cell recycling processes and consulting in the financial sector. For his research project, Jonathan works with various datasets to analyse the economic impacts of forest fires, with a focus on vulnerability and risk assessment to support mitigation and adaptation strategies.

Beyond his studies, Jonathan enjoys playing the piano, theatre, and staying active through running. He is passionate about science communication and has been involved in various educational initiatives in schools.
