Mohid is currently a PhD researcher at ETH Zürich and WSL. He will be contributing to the GLORI-A (Global-to-Regional ICON Alpine Twin) project, which aims to improve real time flood forecasting in the Alpine region. This project, in collaboration with WSL and MeteoSwiss, focusses on integrating ICON’s outputs into advanced hydrological models. Mohid will be working on improving real time flood forecasting in the Alps by making better use of high-resolution weather data. His work will involve figuring out how on-demand weather forecasts can help predict floods more accurately and make flood warnings more reliable.

Mohid holds a Master’s degree from Politecnico Di Milano in Environmental and Land Planning Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from University of Kashmir.

Outside of research, he values a balanced lifestyle focussed on both mental and physical well-being. He is passionate about strength training, enjoys playing cricket to stay agile, and takes on long-distance swimming to build stamina and mental resilience. These activities help him stay energised and focussed.
